CalvinOdom.jpg

Calvin Michael Odom, of Plant City, Florida was born on August 23, 2003 in Tampa Florida.  Calvin was 17 years old when he was taken to be with our Lord on August 22, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Tucker and grandparents Roy & Elouise Odom.  He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Teresa L. Fleming and fathered by Calvin W. Odom;  grandparents W.C. & Carolyn Hogland, and Sharon Hostetler.  A large loving family of 3 great uncles, 3 great aunts, 5 uncles, 4 aunts, 11 cousins, 2 sisters and 1 nephew
.
Cavin was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church and had received Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at youth camp.

Calvin had a love for music he was a Trombone player holding first chair in the 9th grade at Tomlin Middle School.  He learned to play the guitar and was a member of his church choir as he loved to sing with or without his guitar or with any of his favorite country songs on the radio.  He was a member of the Air Force Jr. R.O.T.C. in the 10th grade at Durant High School and an F.F.A. member in the 11th grade at Durant.  He was a member of the fishing club at both schools.  He joined a Kayaking Group after going to Arkansas and fell in love with Kayaking on his first trip.  Calvin’s most recent and one of his proudest accomplishments was earning his Diploma in July of 2021.

Most people would describe Calvin as a kind, considerate, helpful and respectful young man; those of us who knew him better know he was so much more.  His dynamic personality had a way of drawing people to him.  He always had a smile and encouraging word for friends and family. He had a passion for fishing, 4-wheel riding, boating, kayaking, hiking and really anything outdoors; he was ready to try out anything.  Calvin’s love for his mother, family and church family showed in everything he did.  He would be the first one to volunteer to help anyone with any project most especially if there was food involved; because as we all know, his first passion was eating… that boy loved food! Calvin loved his momma, sister, family and his pride and joy, Giovanni his little nephew of 8 months.  We will all miss those blue eyes, big smile, and his enthusiasm for life.  Rest in Peace our sweet young man.
